Support | Update Flash Memory

The following update applies only to Grand Piano Pro Soundexpanders
with a serial number below 3,000, which can be found on the underside of the device.

USB STICK FORMAT
Use an empty USB stick that is formatted in FAT format.
Please note that USB sticks must not be formatted on an Apple computer. We recommend using USB sticks with a small storage capacity, as these are usually preformatted in FAT format. For example, we use this 16 GB model, which comes preformatted.

1. Download the ZIP file for your V3 Sound Expander from our homepage.

BIN FILE and sound list >

2. In the ZIP file, you will find a BIN file that must be copied to the USB stick, as well as the corresponding sound list for this sound bank.

Note: The BIN file and the manual have the same date in their file names so that you can clearly identify them.

3. Copy the file that matches your V3 SOUND model to an empty USB stick. Make sure you only use the file for your specific model.

Example: A "Grand Piano Pro" file must not be loaded onto a "Sonority Pro" device—this would only produce noise.

4. Turn off the V3 Sound Expander.

5. Insert the USB stick into the back of the device.

7. Turn on the Sound Expander.

8. After about 5–10 seconds, the MIDI LED will start flashing – the loading process has started. This process takes about 30–50 minutes.

If the flash programming does not start—i.e., the LED does not flash after 10 seconds—either the USB stick is not formatted correctly or there are multiple files on the stick.

9. Once the flash process is complete, the LED will glow yellow continuously.

10. Turn off the device.

11. Remove the USB stick.

12. Turn the reverb potentiometer back to its previous position (default: 50%).

13. Switch on the sound expander.

14. The device is now ready to play.

15. The current sound list with all new or modified sounds can also be found in the ZIP file.
